About Katie

I am a licensed therapist specializing in trauma-informed counseling for adults. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Southeast Missouri State University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University.

My professional journey includes over seven years of law enforcement experience, complemented by several years in diverse helping professions. I have advanced training in domestic violence and trauma, and I hold an Advanced Police License from TCOLE.

During my career in law enforcement, I became deeply committed to mental health advocacy. I developed a peer support program, earned certifications as a Mental Health Officer (MHO) and hostage negotiator, and pursued wellness and mental health training opportunities. My goal has always been to destigmatize mental health challenges and support those in high-stress professions—leading me to my current calling as a therapist.

I provide individual, couples, and group therapy, using trauma-informed approaches, EMDR therapy, and client-centered methods to help clients process trauma, manage stress, and build resilience. My work is especially focused on supporting first responders, helping professionals, and adults experiencing anxiety, PTSD, domestic violence, or life transitions.

Outside of work, I am a devoted dog mom to two spirited rescues, Blanca and Trace, and I incorporate animal-assisted therapy into my practice. I enjoy crafting, especially wreath-making, and I am passionate about all things Halloween. I actively contribute to my community as a board member for Hays County Crimestoppers and participate in local events. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, floating the river, attending live music events, and binge-watching TV.

I enjoy connecting with clients and supporting them as they experience breakthroughs and build lasting resilience.
