FAQ

Not sure what to expect? Here are some frequently asked questions.

Do you offer in person sessions?

Yes. We offer in person sessions at 589 FM 1626 Suite 308 Buda, Texas.

What is telehealth?

We will use a secure, HIPPA-compliant video conference platform. You can join your session from your computer, tablet or smart phone. We will be able to see and hear each other. It is virtually like being in the same room together, except you don't have to sit in traffic, can wear whatever you're comfortable in and be in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

WHY DID you become a counselor?

I became drawn to the mental health field when I became a Mental Health Officer. I volunteered for the calls others dreaded—welfare checks, POEDs, and anything involving crisis or emotion. I took every peer support, wellness, and de-escalation training I could, and became FBI-trained as a hostage negotiator. Even with all that experience, I didn’t attend counseling myself until I worked a critical incident that I couldn’t shake. That moment made me realize how much first responders need a therapist who truly understands their world. I won’t be shocked by anything you share, and I look forward to supporting you through whatever you’re carrying.

Who qualifies for the helping professions discount

First responders, medical professionals, crisis workers, school personnel, clergy, therapists and social workers. Please reach out if you have questions about your eligibility.

What will happen at the first session?

During the first session, we will discuss your intake paperwork and identify your goals for therapy. We will get to know each other because I know it can be awkward and scary to talk to a stranger about your life.

How often will i need to come?

Generally, it is ideal to start with weekly sessions. Everyone's situation is different, so it may differ for you. Some clients like to start weekly and work their way to biweekly. This is something we can discuss and together we will determine what is best for your needs.

Do you accept insurance?

I am in network with UHC, Cigna, Aetna, Quest, Carelon and Curative. For all others, you may be eligible for reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits. Contact your insurance provider to inquire about those benefits.
